Can $16,000 Make a Difference?

What is the exact point that most people reach out to me for Financial Coaching help? Many clients who reach out to me are simply tired of having those same problems with money.

Carrying around the same problem for years can be exhausting.

The same was true for two clients that I have been working with, Susan and Ben. Susan is a school teacher, and Ben is a machine operator, with two children, including one in college.  Their take-home monthly pay is around $5,500.

When they reached out for help, they said that they had been inconsistent with their budget, and they needed help setting up one they could turn to every month.  They also needed to eliminate as much debt as they could.

In the first coaching session, Susan said, “I don’t want to feel stressed about our finances anymore. If there’s a period of time that Ben is out of work, I want enough money saved to cover his pay.  We will be kid-free in a few years. We want to be in a position to travel.”

When we started, they had $262,000 in debt, and almost all of it is for student loans.

Through coaching, budgeting and habit changes, they have already been able to pay off over $16,000 in debt!

While paying off debt, they’ve also saved an emergency fund, paid cash for a family vacation, paid cash for unexpected medical expenses and Christmas.

Yes–that is super exciting, what is even more impactful is that they have peace of mind about their money. They went from feeling trapped, struggling to make ends meet, to working on building wealth.

Now they have HOPE

Ben and Susan have learned a system for managing their money that allows them to live a life they love while taking responsibility for their debt and working towards their financial goals.

Susan said, “I really didn’t think it was possible for us to pay off debt and have peace in our finances.  If you would have told us a year ago that we would pay off this much debt and pay cash for so many things, I would not have believed you!  I’m a believer now and I’m all in!”

So if you are struggling now with finances, I want you to know that you don’t have to be debt free to have peace with your finances.

You simply need to be moving in the direction of your goals. Find a plan that works for you. If you can, bring someone in to guide you through the process.
