This month we are discussing how to get organized with your finances. Organization with your finances goes beyond opening your mail and file folders. Let’s talk about organizing your cash flow throughout the month.
Calendaring Your Bills
Are most of your bills due around the same time of the month? Does this make cash flow difficult for you? I see this often with my 1:1 clients. Here’s how I help them:
💥I print a blank monthly calendar.
💥I note all paydays with the amount on the calendar.
💥I note all bills on their due dates and include the amount due.
By doing this I can see how their money flows. From there I devise a plan for paying their bills and freeing up some cash during the times when they have too many bills due.
Moving Your Due Dates
Does money get really tight during certain times of the month? Consider contacting your creditors, utility companies, cell phone carriers, etc., and request that the due date be moved. Use the method above to determine the best time to pay certain bills in order to free up cash.
